The titans defeated the South Allegheny Gladiators yesterday 3-1.
After a loss to a somewhat better sided Norwin the Titans came out against the Gladiators and put them away early.
How it happened:
In the second of four quarters Sean Miller opened the scoring from about 14 yards out and beautifully put it around the SA goalie.
There was no turning back after. The Titans dominated possession for the next 2 and half quarters.
In the 3rd quarter Zach Johns got tripped up on the right side of the box and earned a penalty kick. The Titans had a PK stopped early but he stepped up himself to take the kick and converted to make the score 2-0
Johns stepped up again and scored a from the right side to put the Gladiators away 3-0.
South Allegheny did end up earning a penalty kick with 1 second left on the game and even though the Titans GK, Carlos Harper, went the right way it was just out of his hands.
The titans are off Wednesday but will go back at it Thursday and Friday before they head to Belle Vernon for the Paul Sisko Memorial tournament. They play Belle Vernon to kick off the tournament. Varsity is set to start at 8 and JV at 10. The girls will follow at 11:15
